The abbey of Saint George Gorgolaini is located outside of the village Kato Asites, in an altitude of 450 metres and has only one monk. From the buildings that exist today, most are built in 1957 and later on. The temple of Saint George, however, was constructed in 1627. In the courtyard of the abbey there are two perennial trees that have been declared preservable: a plane tree and a cypress tree.
